As part of the 18th Annual Civil War Weekend, Civil War School Day is designed to provide memorable Civil War-era, hands-on encounters for the region's fifth graders. Planned activities may include learning about and participating as "real soldiers" in recruitment and enlistment, camp set-up, drilling, sanitation commission and soldiers' aid, camp discipline, music and more.
