Summer Camps

YESTERDAY'S PAST IS TODAY'S ADVENTURE!

Give your child the experience of the Greenbush countryside at the Wade House Summer Camps. These camps will be adventure-filled, educational, and will teach campers the wonders of their town and state. Wade House offers camps from June through August with programming for kids ages 6-13. Space is limited to 20 students per camp.

Campers registered before March 1 receive a $10 discount off any camp

PIONEER CAMP:
STAKE YOUR CLAIM

June 22-25, July 27-31 (ages 8-13)
9 AM – 4 PM
Experience pioneer life and learn what it took to establish a homestead! Throughout the week students will learn candle dipping, blacksmithing, sewing, woodstove cooking, tin punching, visit the sawmill, go on nature hikes, and take horse-drawn wagon rides!

Cost: $220 (members), $245 (non-members)

CIVIL WAR CAMP: JOIN THE CAUSE

July 13-17 (ages 8-13)
9 AM – 4 PM

Learn what day to day life was like for a civil war soldier! Students will vote in the 1860 and 1864 elections, enlist in the Union army, be issued soldier’s gear for the week (including a musket and bayonet), participate in marching drills, learn to cook over an open fire, shop, and prepare for battle!

Cost: $220 (members), $245 (non-members)

FRONTIER CAMP:
TEST YOUR SURVIVAL SKILLS

July 6-10, Aug. 3-7 (ages 8-13)
9 AM – 4 PM
In this all-new camp learn what it took to survive on the frontier! Students will learn tomahawk throwing, animal tracking, fire building, foraging, map making, pottery, tree and plant identification, moccasin making, animal calls, whittling, and black powder rifle demonstrations!

Cost: $220 (members), $245 (non-members)

NATURE CAMP: EXPLORE THE ELEMENTS

July 20-24 (ages 6-8)
9 AM – Noon or 1 PM – 4 PM

In this all-new camp, students get to explore the 270 acres of land that make up the Wade House Historic site! Activities include nature hikes, plant and tree identification, environmental restoration, wildlife observation, nature crafts, fishing in the millpond, and so much more!

Cost: $103 (members), $115 (non-members)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Advance registration required for all camps. Registration closes one month prior to the start of each camp. Camps are not included with general admission. Early drop-off and pick-up are available for an additional fee (please inquire). A limited number of need-based scholarships are available (please inquire). Each student receives a special camp T-shirt with their name on it. Campers must bring their own bag lunch every day; a morning and afternoon snack are included with the camp registration. A Friday celebration is held at the end of each camp for campers and their family
