Wade House is celebrating the bounty of our garden this month –and in Betsey Wade’s time, she would have been thinking about how to preserve this abundant harvest to include as part of the meals that she served to stagecoach travelers passing by on the plank road.
Visit Wade House Historic Site in September for a tour of our garden and to sample fresh picked veggies including our pole beans, peas, tomatoes and heritage lettuce varieties. Wade House is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a visit always includes two horse-drawn wagon rides. ... See MoreSee Less
