The Wade House Carriage Driving Days (WHCDD) is an American Driving Society (ADS) recognized pleasure driving competition.  The ADS is the governing body for carriage driving in the United States. One of the most important services the ADS provides is maintaining the Official Rule Book. It also trains and licenses all the officials.

Volunteers

Interested in learning more about carriage driving?  Volunteer! Many opportunities are available for horsey and non-horsey people.

Fridays normally begin at 8AM and end by 6PM. Saturday and Sunday shifts begin at 7AM and end around 5:30PM.

Our volunteer coordinator, Jim Willaert, will help you find the best position for your experience and availability.

  • From Highway 23, turn onto Old Plank Road.
  • Continue to Center St and turn right.
  • Pass the old visitor center lot.
  • After the subdivision, make a sharp right onto the gravel road marked “Gate 3” (swing wide for long trailers).
  • Follow the gravel road to the stabling area.
